Last post of the week and it’s a good one. First heard this dark and funkadelic Golden Bug jam on Aeroplane‘s February Chart Mix. I’ve also been playing The Radio Dept.‘s new album to death and this is another highlight that I think I’m allowed to post. Lastly, this Redial remix reminds me of a GRUM remix and that can only be a good thing.
Had a cracker of a night on Friday seeing Zane Lowe play Sugarbeat at Cabaret Voltaire. Blau! was the first track he played and I hadn’t fully appreciated just how BIG that track was. Here are some more jamz I’ve been bopping my head to. The Rubix remix is by far the best on the Romane EP. This fresh-ass Foamo remix is also catchy as hell. Finally, got emailed by the Don Diablo posse his new track with Sidney Samson. Samsonite! I was way off.
Recovering from a blinding hangover so I’ll make this brief(ish). Wee selection of the tunes I’ve been digging the most recently. Can’t believe I hadn’t heard this Dusty Kid track til a few days ago. Kicks in big time at around the 2-minute mark. Also new 80kidz with Lovefoxxx from CSS – easily the best thing either has done for a while – excited for the 80kidz album. Was sent this Russ Chimes remix and must say he’s not put a foot wrong lately. Finally, one of the guys that runs the Killer Kitsch club night at Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh (and Glasgow) also does remixes and discovered this prize of a remix he did for Glasgow band Haight Ashbury. Fans of said Chimes and Fred Falke should enjoy.
PRIMARY 1 has caught my ear before. Been listening to his Demos that are free to download and some are good, some are great and some are just OK. But I guess that’s why they’re demos…but I can see the potential, and so will you. Here are my favourites, along with the new album track ‘The Blues’ premiered on Gorilla Vs. Bear.
Had a scare a few days ago when the site was taken offline. Thankfully it’s all been sorted now so lets get back to business. Saw A1 Bassline play a stormer last night at Cabaret Voltaire. He even played Wile Out. These 3 songs are simply amazing.
The internet is a fast moving beast, so the streaming MP3s that are posted may not work after a while due to them being taken down. And since I can't be arsed uploading them all again it's tough shite. I'll always post a link to a downloadable MP3 though. As always, if you like what you hear - away and buy it eh!
