As you can probably tell from the picture on the right I am a….whisper it….jaunge*. Yes, I’d probably have a bullet in my arse now if I was in M.I.A.‘s new 9-min banned video for ‘Born Free‘. At least I’m not this guy though!

I love it when you fall for a song instantly. I’d say it took about 10 seconds of ‘Back And Forth’, by Aussie young-guns Operator Please, for me to be smitten. How long did it take you? Head over to their website where you can listen to the album in full for free!
This is more like it. ‘All I Want’ is the best thing James Murphy has done since ‘All My Friends‘ – and he’s totally channeling 70s Bowie. The new Scissor Sisters track ‘Invisible Light’ is also a pleasant surprise sounding like a fantastic amalgamation of Hercules & Love Affair + Pet Shop Boys (I know that sounds shite but you’ll have to trust me). To round of this post, Royksopp have put out this lovely Steve Reich remix featuring gorgeous synths and unwinding guitars(?) I never thought I’d post about Steve Reich but this remake(mix?) is just too good not to share.
After the SEGA-on-crack whiplash that was the first hearing of Crystal Castles 2010 I must say that it’s totally grown on me. But that’s nothing compared to the 180° siren-call of Celestica, the 2nd track on their new self-titled record, that Zane Lowe played on his show last night. So this is what they call Deep Club.
The internet is a fast moving beast, so the streaming MP3s that are posted may not work after a while due to them being taken down. And since I can't be arsed uploading them all again it's tough shite. I'll always post a link to a downloadable MP3 though. As always, if you like what you hear - away and buy it eh!
p.s. if I've put up a song you'd rather not see here then let me know, you can email me here
