Christ, The Bass
Sunday, November 22nd, 2009Palermo Disko Machine. I’d never heard of them until they were featured in both Aeroplane’s November Mix and on Erol Alkan’s 6music show yesterday. Vesuvia is by far one of the best songs I’ve heard this year. Highlight: when the bass kicks back in at 2.34 and takes the song by the braces for a dance. Definitely one for fans of Classixx, Aeroplane etc. Thanks to Monday Music Update for this one.

Confession time – I tweeted TooManySebastians, NashvilleNights and StoneyRoads the other day about how they were gonna LOVE the Cagedbaby remix of Don Diablo in Aeroplane’s November mix. Now as good as that remix is, I didn’t actually mean that one. I got confused with the tracklisting. What I REALLY meant was that they were gonna LOVE the MiGHty mOUsE remix of Detachments. Poor me. See what you think.

Finally, heard this on Erol Alkan’s 6music show last night and it stood out right away. It’s Joe Goddard from Hot Chip and he’s being remixed by my BFF Four Tet. Have to say, anything with Four Tet’s name attached recently (be it Love Cry or his remixes for others) is nothing less than stellar. Can’t wait for his album (There Is Love In You) to land next year.
